Software Prerequisites

For MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.04.xx   MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.04.xx must be run before the installation of MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.04.xx.  The contents of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.04.xx include:   Windows Installer 3.1v2 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 x64 MSXML 4 with Service Pack 2 VBA 6.4 DirectX 9c (Dec. 2006 release) DHTML Editing Control for Applications   MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.04.xx needs to be installed prior to the installation of the v08.09.04 releases of MicroStation V8 XM Edition or any of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition derivative products even if a previous version of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack (like v08.09.00.xx or 08.09.03.xx) is already installed to the same workstation.   For MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.03.xx   MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.03.xx must be run before the installation of MicroStation V8 XM Edition v08.09.03.xx.  The contents of the MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack v08.09.03.xx include:   Windows Installer 3.1v2 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 x64 MSXML 4 with Service Pack 2 VBA 6.4 DirectX 9c DHTML Editing Control for Applications   The MicroStation V8 XM Edition Software Prerequisite Pack is available via the Web downloads/MySELECT CD area of SELECTservices Online.

Minimum Profile

The minimum recommended workstation profile for running MicroStation V8 XM Edition is:

Processor	Intel® Pentium® or AMD AthlonTM
Memory	256MB minimum, 512 MB recommended. More memory will almost always improve performance, particularly when working with larger models.
Hard Disk	900MB free disk space (which includes the 400MB install footprint for a complete installation)
Video	Graphics Card supported by DirectX 9.0. See graphics card manufacturer for latest information on DirectX drivers. If no graphics card supported by DirectX can be found, MicroStation will attempt to use software emulation under Windows XP SP2. At least 128 MB of video RAM is recommended. For optimal performance, graphics display color depth should be set to 24-bit or higher. When using a color depth setting of 16-bit, some inconsistencies will be noted.
