Subject: 3-Port Criteria Routines
Product: GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite
Document Number: 8257

The following 3-Port Criteria routines are provided free for your use. We at GEOPAK hope that you reap productivity benefits from automating GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite with Criteria.

Except where noted, all routines require GEOPAK 2000 or higher.

Extract Final XS Pavement Information and Display in Plan View
Example: This example shows how 3PC can be used to gather information from completed cross sections and draw the corresponding results in plan view. In addition, a comma separated ASCII report will be generated. The example finds the elevation at the top of pavement and sub-grade drawn in the cross sections and creates plan view paving grades as well as detailed reports.

Plan View Earthwork Labels
Example: Adds prefixes and suffixes to the columns of an earthwork text file.

Sample Usage of the ASCII Read Command
Example: The description of the ASCII Read Command showcases multiple examples of how this command can be used. There is no file to download with this sample.

Number Multiple Cross Section Sheets in a Single Design File
Example: Utilize a MicroStation Basic Macro to prompt user for input required to number multiple cross section sheets in a single design file.

Generate Culvert Lines on Cross Sections from an ASCII Text File Containing Northing, Easting, and Elevation [GEOPAK 2001]
Example: Place culvert lines on the closest, previously cut cross section from an ASCII NEZ data. Options are provided to draw the culvert lines in plan view as well.

Draw a Grid of Elevations from a GEOPAK TIN
Example: Create a color-coded display of elevation ranges for determining channel navigation based upon TIN information.

Read Cell Locations and Sort by Station
Example: Read right of way cell locations, sort by stationing, draw right of way lines between the cells and annotate.

ASCII Right of Way Reporting
Example: Generate ASCII Report files along right of way at specified increments, at the end points of the right of way lines, or at horizontal alignment critical points such as PC, PT, SC, CS, etc.

Draw Pattern Lines in Plan View at Culvert Locations
Example: Extract culvert cell locations, generate pattern lines in plan view for the creation of cross sections at culvert locations.

Draw Pattern Lines in Plan View at Culvert Locations from ASCII Data
Example: Generate pattern lines at culvert locations in plan view from ASCII data, and utilize for the creation of cross sections at culvert locations.

Draw Culverts in Plan, Profile and Cross Section View
Example: Read Culvert Elevations from an ASCII file or input manually do draw culverts in 3 design views: XS, Plan and Profile

Locate Plan View Utilities and Project onto Nearest Cross Section
Example: Utilize the sample 3PC file to locate utility cells within a design file and write information such as the station and offset to an ASCII file. Taking this text file, project the utility cell location onto the nearest cross section.

Generate an Earthwork Table in Plan View
Example: Read the ASCII generated earthwork quantities to populate a graphical earthwork table in Plan View

Store Graphical Elements into COGO
Example: Locate graphical elements in a MicroStation design file and then store those elements into COGO.

Generate ASCII Reports from Plan View Elements
Example: Right of Way Report

Custom Labeling Along Alignments [GEOPAK 2001]
Example: Placing Circles for Tick Marks

Custom Labeling on Alignment/Graphic Elements
Example: Custom Label of PI

Generate Elevations from GEOPAK TIN files
Example: Draw a GRID with proposed and existing elevations in Plan View

Generate Quantities
Example: Utilize a single MicroStation element to generate multiple quantities

Generate Labels
Example: Generate labels and a report of station/offset values from a Selection Set

Generate a Profile Input File
Example: Generate VPIs along a graphical line at user-defined increments in input format

Generate Custom Labeling on a Profile [GEOPAK 2001]
Example: Custom VPI/VPT Labels

Draw a Profile Grid

Custom Cross Section Report
Example: Cross Section Station/Offset Report

Utilize Plan View Elements to Draw Features into Profile View [GEOPAK 2001]
Example: Extract Catch Basins elements from plan view and draw onto profile

Complete a Superelevation Table from Cross Sections
Example: Generate a Superelevation Table for an undivided roadway

Generate a Superelevation Diagram
Example: Generate a Superelevation Diagram for an undivided roadway

Generate XS Features in Plan View
Example: Generate limits of construction from XS view and display in plan view

Draw Roadway Feature in 3 Views
Example: Generate Ditch Locations in Plan, Profile, and Cross Section View
