Digital InterPlot 8.1 now obtains its licenses from SELECTserver version 8.2 or later.
Previous license files (IDI.LIC, IPDPR12.LIC, IPDPRUNL.LIC, and IPDPRWG.LIC) are no longer used.
You will need to request a Digital InterPlot license that will be added to your SELECTServer license file (license.lic). This license will entitle you to run Digital InterPlot, one file server, and one web server. If you need additional file server licenses or web server licenses, you will have to purchase them separately.
Configuring the Digital InterPlot license on the plot server
A new license file (licBroker.lic) is used for Digital InterPlot licenses. After installing Digital InterPlot, you should edit the licBroker.lic file to add your SELECTserver name. This license file is delivered to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bentley Shared\LicenseBroker folder. To add your SELECTserver name, change the string INSERT_SELECT_SERVER_NAME_HERE to your SELECTserver name. Make sure to press the ENTER key after typing the SELECTserver name. After editing the licBroker.lic file, stop and then restart the Bentley License Broker Service.
Configuring the Digital InterPlot license on the Web server
If the Digital InterPlot Web server is a separate machine from the Plot Server, you must install the Digital InterPlot Web Utility on the Web Server. This utility delivers components for the Web Server ASP pages along with the Bentley License Broker. The Bentley License Broker installs as a service to administer the Bentley Universal Client Licenses (UCL) for viewing Digital InterPlot Web pages. The UCL can be used for Project Wise, Bentley Publisher, and Digital InterPlot.
To load the web utility, share the directory <Product_Directory>\dprweb on the plot server. From the web server, connect to the shared directory on the plot server. Double-click Setup.exe. Follow any instructions that appear during setup.
Once the web utility has been installed, you must edit the licBroker.lic file to add your SELECTserver name.
Universal Client License (UCL) required for Web viewing
A UCL is required in order to view the archives via the web. A UCL is not required to populate the archive.
If you have upgraded from Digital InterPlot 1.1 and were using the Project Wise concurrent user license (pw.lic), you will need to request a UCL. If you do not have previous Project Wise concurrent user licenses, you must purchase the Universal Client License in order to view the archives via the web.
Additional Web Server / File Server Licenses
The Digital InterPlot license includes a single web server license and a single file server license. If you want to use an additional web server, you will need to purchase a Bentley Web Server license. If you want to use an additional file server, you will need to purchase a Bentley Distributed File Server license.
InterPlot Client 8.1 Licenses
The licensing for InterPlot Client 8.1 has not changed. If you are upgrading from InterPlot Client 10.02 or InterPlot Client 10.08, the same license will work for InterPlot Client 8.1. If you are installing InterPlot Client 8.1 for the first time, you will need to purchase an InterPlot Client license. This license can be node-locked or a SELECTserver license. If using a SELECTserver license, the number of InterPlot Client licenses must be equal to or greater than the number of MicroStation licenses managed by SELECTserver.
