Subject: Procedure to Remove the PCI IKON Driver
Product: Intergraph VPI Interface for PCI Bus
Operating System: Intergraph TD series/ISMP with Windows NT® 3.51 or above
Document Number: 8309

If your system has two IKON PCI cards installed and you do not see VPT2, then it may be that you performed an Express setup (which only installs plotter0), instead of a Custom setup (which allows you to configure a plotter0, plotter1, and plotter2).

Additionally, even though you may have performed a custom setup, someone else could have reinstalled the software by going through Express setup, instead of Custom setup. This could explain why VPT2 is not showing up and can be corrected by removing the IKON driver and reinstalling it.

Steps to Remove the Driver:

  1. From the File Manager pulldown menu, select File, then Run.
  2. Then, type Regedt32.
  3. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\PARALLEL PORTS. Verify that there is a VPTx for each IKON card. If there isn't, then this usually means that there was a configuration problem (Express vs Custom). Take no action here, the IKON driver creates these entries when it is initializing.
  4. Now, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Intergraph\Ikonpcidrv, and delete this key.
  5. Select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ik10115 and delete this key. (Before you delete this key, you can check the Parameters subkey and verify that Plotter0 and Plotter1 have been configured or not. Express setup configures only Plotter0; a Custom setup can configure up to 3 plotters.)
  6. Next, from File Manager, delete the c:\winnt351\system32\drivers\ik10115.sys file.
  7. Reboot the system.
  8. Open the Control Panel\Devices. The IKON Parallel Port driver should no longer be listed.
  9. Re-install the IKON driver through Custom installation.
