Question 1: You have officially certified SharePlot on MicroStation V08.01.02.15 and Bentley PowerDraft V8.01.02.20. Is it possible to run SharePlot on any previous versions of MicroStation and Bentley PowerDraft?
Answer: Yes, it is possible to run SharePlot on previous V8.1.xx.xx versions of MicroStation and Bentley PowerDraft. Simply delete vplot.ma and vplot.dll from the product's ../mdlsys/asneeded folder before you install SharePlot.
Question 2: After I install Bentley SharePlot, I have to key-in "mdl load shareplot" every time I go into MicroStation or Bentley PowerDraft in order to run SharePlot. Can I make it load automatically?
Answer: Yes, simply copy shareplot.ma and shareplot.dll from your ../mdlsys/asneeded folder to your ../mdlsys/required folder and it will be automatically loaded each time you run MicroStation or Bentley PowerDraft.

Question 3: The first time someone previews a SharePlot within MicroStation, a text dialog appears saying, "Warning: Can't read AppletViewer properties file: C:\Documents and Settings\<log-in name>\.hotjava\properties Using defaults." What is happening?
Answer: This message occurs when there is no .appletviewer file in the user's /Document and Settings// folder. This file is automatically created after the first preview, so it is not seen subsequent to the first preview.
Question 4: When I try to send a SharePlot, I get a dialog saying that MS Outlook does not recognize <Outlook Profile Name>. What is happening?
Answer: SharePlot tries to resolve the name of your default Outlook Profile against an entry in your Microsoft Outlook Address Book in an attempt to obtain your proper return E-mail address before it sends a SharePlot. You receive this error when Bentley SharePlot can not make this match. In order to correct the situation, you'll need to do one of two things.
Change your Outlook profile to a resolvable name in your Outlook Address Book. A general Outlook profile name such as "Microsoft Outlook" is probably not resolvable. An individual Outlook profile such as "John Smith" is more likely to be resolved.
Explicitly tell SharePlot which profile and return E-mail address to use. This can be done by setting the MS_SHAREPLOT_PROFILE_NAME and MS_SHAREPLOT_SENDER_EMAIL configuration variables.

Question 5: Is it possible to use SharePlot in conjunction with any other E-mail clients?
Answer: Although not officially supported or certified, it is possible to run Bentley SharePlot in conjunction with other MAPI compliant E-mail systems that provide a MAPI transport. To do so, you must set the following configuration variables:
MS_SHAREPLOT_SENDER_EMAIL - Valid SMTP E-mail address of the SharePlot sender
MS_SHAREPLOT_PROFILE_NAME - Valid MAPI Profile Name
MS_SHAREPLOT_SENDER_NAME - Optional name of the SharePlot sender if you don't want to use the profile name as the sender name.
Question 6: When I try to send or preview a SharePlot, I get the message "Error creating plot." What causes this? How can I fix this?
Answer: Bentley SharePlot utilizes the CGM plotting subsystem to create the SharePlots. This error will result If any of the components of this subsystem are not installed or located. Therefore, make sure that cgm.ma and cgm.dll are located in the ../mdlsys/asneeded folder, and cgm.plt is located in the ../Workspace/System/plotdrv folder.
