Bentley is pleased to announce the immediate availability of SELECT Update 3 for WaterCAD and WaterGEMS V8 XM Edition (08.09.400.34) from SELECTservices Online.
WaterCAD and WaterGEMS provide water utilities and consulting firms with easy-to-use hydraulic and water quality modeling tools to analyze, design, and optimize water distribution systems.
In line with Bentley's commitment to continuous product improvement, this release (08.09.400.34) includes the following key new features, enhancements, and minor fixes:
New features and key enhancements:
- HAMMER Integration: A WaterCAD/GEMS model is a HAMMER model. Many new elements in WaterCAD/GEMS to accommodate HAMMER such as surge tanks, air valves, and rupture discs.
- Unidirectional flushing (UDF): Evaluate multiple conventional and unidirectional flushing (UDF) events in a single run with the ability to map flushing events.
- VSP suction side improvements: Variable Speed Pumps can now handle suction side controls and fixed flow settings.
- Leak calibration: New Darwin calibrator enhancements that point the user in the direction of likely leaks.
- Handling of large output files: Users can now selectively save a portion of results for specific locations and time steps and control the location of output files which can be different from model file location.
- Hydropneumatic tanks: A new element that improves hydropneumatic tank EPS modeling and facilities import from HAMMER (Transient modeling).
- Hydrant element improvement: Additional behavior (on/off, include lateral losses and default emitter coefficient).
- Time series data import: For graphing of SCADA data for EPS calibration
- Compliance with new platforms: Support for ArcGIS 9.2, Microstation 8.9.4 and AutoCAD 2008.

Instructions to download or create a CD:
- Click on the Downloads/MySELECT CD hyperlink in the SELECTservices Online page
- If you are not logged in to Bentley.com, you will be prompted to enter your username and password
- Select "Haestad Products" from the Search by product pull-down menu and click the Search button at the bottom of the page.
- Using the checkboxes, select the product(s) you want to download or create a CD with and click Continue.
- Select whether you want to download or burn a CD with your selection.
